“Having retired in 2020, we found a large plot in a desirable location close to Bearsden cross and all the amenities that offers. We decided, having previously being involved in four other self-builds over 40 years, that this would be our fifth and final self-build.

Due to the size of the plot, we decided to construct a building with ground and first floor apartments, which allowed our daughter and her family to move in below our apartment.

Planning was a challenge due to the site location being within the Old Bearsden Conservation area, however, we worked with Murray and the team at Murray Russell Architects, who produced a wonderful set of plans, designed to exceed passive haus standards and planning was approved" advises Colin.
